So I've been doing this 14 day cleanse*...
… for 7 days. 7 to go. I hesitated to blog about it in case I hated it and quit after two days (I like to be realistic). But… it’s working. And I feel really good.
I was grocery shopping at Whole Foods last weekend and saw this cleanse on sale:
I tried a cleanse a few years ago, but I’m pretty confident that I drank beer and ate pizza while I was doing it. The results...

The thing about having a blog...
… is that you write it for you.
You write about what you love. What interests you. What inspires you. What makes you happy. Or maybe you write just because you really love to write.
And if you’re on Tumblr, you follow people because you like them. Because they have a point of view. Because you may not have a single thing in common, but love looking at life through the eyes of...

Pizza 101
Last week, Laura asked how to make pizza. And while I’ve blogged about pizza A LOT in the past year or two, I don’t think I’ve ever formally posted a recipe. So here we go.
Ingredients:
2 cups all purpose flour 1 1/4 tsp. salt 3/4 - 1 cup warm water 1 tsp. active dry yeast 1 tbsp. olive oil
Directions:
Place a pizza stone on the bottom rack of the oven and preheat...

You guys, my future niece* is on tumblr! →
And she’s adorable.
(I’m not just saying that because she said some really sweet things about me in her first post… I swear.)
*I should probably add that she’s in her twenties, not seven years old, which is what it sounds like when I say “future niece.”

Dear Mom,
I know you’re a little skeptical about the pugs being in the wedding. And I get it. But I think you’re picturing this:
And I’m picturing this:
All cleared up?
Ok good.

You would think a show like ‘Skins,’ which brags about its realism, wouldn’t...
– Hank Stuever, in his review of MTV’s “Skins.” (via washingtonpoststyle & elizs)
This is amazing.
And everything about it reminds me of watching “Fifteen” on Nickelodeon in the early 90’s and not understanding why those kids (ahem, Ryan Reynolds) had such funny accents.
I...

Warning: lengthy wedding post ahead
Last night I had my very first wedding-related emotional breakdown. It was pretty stellar. Especially the part where I was standing in the middle of the living room sobbing to my sister on the phone while Aaron tried to figure out what the hell was going on.
I cried about a bunch of stuff that I guess I haven’t really told anyone. Like how overwhelmed I’m beginning to feel about the...

- Daniel, Sister Bea, Josh A., and I ate at Jerusalem Cafe and then went to the Tivoli to see Black Swan. I awkwardly stared at sheasylvia in the concession line for a good three minutes trying to determine if it was really her. I’m glad she has normal social skills, unlike me, and asked Bea if she was on Tumblr. So anyway, Shea and Aaron are great, and I’m glad we met...

We did it.
We finally pulled the plug on our AT&T U-Verse TV service.
Our new setup includes a totally inconspicuous digital antenna for over-the-air channels (all of the basic locals plus a few randoms and several Jesus-y options - this is the midwest after all), an X-Box 360 and a Roku HD. The Roku, by the way, is magical and super easy to use. Subscriptions to Netflix ($10/month) and Hulu Plus...

Wedding update:
The invitations have been designed and sent off to be printed. This DIY approach cost a mere $63. And they are perfect. Beachy, casual, us.
My wedding shoes were purchased. Hint: they satisfy the requirement for “something blue.”
Our wedding registries have been created and edited approximately 50 times.
I’ve been snapping up Groupons for restaurants in our honeymoon...
