New Year's Eve Party: The Menu
We’re having a small group of friends over for NYE to celebrate with good food, games (c’mon - who doesn’t like party games?), and assorted sparkling beverages. Also party hats, noisemakers and some awful slash awesome 2012 glasses. Which I will wear. Proudly. If you think NYE is meant to be spent in a ballroom full of strangers at an overpriced party with a cash bar and one...
Anonymous asked: I think we're still in the three day time frame...if we all grabbed cocktails before reading, would you tell the whole doozy-ing? story of meeting your boyfriend? I need a good story to get me through the next two days!

pshuckleberry asked: I just had a really good interview for a job in Kansas City. I'm sure I'm jumping to conclusions-but just to further my obsession, what neighborhoods do you advise a single person moving to KS to look at for rentals?
Anonymous asked: Please tell me how you got to where you are (career wise). I need motivation. I've been out of school for over 2 years and CAN NOT find work to save my life. Any advise? Would you be willing to take a chance on a bright, young woman who is a quick learner and dedicated as hell?

Anonymous asked: I would like to know how you seem to go about making friends so easily. I have followed your blog for a long time and you seemed to have great friends in Wichita and now lots of fun new friends in KC. I have a few friends that l grew up with that live far away and I see them when I can but would love to meet some friends in my current city. What are the secrets to your fabulousness?
Anonymous asked: How did you and the new boyfriend meet?

Things that happened last week:
50 people who work with/for my boyfriend came to our house for their holiday party. FIFTY. And many of them had yet to meet me so I was just sort of awkwardly standing around while people wondered who I was. I started to tally my awkward moments. There were a lot of tallys.
My office holiday party went something like this: tequila at 2 pm, ugly sweater, dancing, getting picked up by the...

Things that happened this weekend:
Eat Live Run’s Cheesy Zucchini Pizza was made for the first time since the summer thanks to paying a stupid amount for out-of-season zucchini at the store. But whatever. It was delicious and there was wine.
The first holiday viewing of Home Alone. It’s the boyfriend’s favorite. And since I’m pretty sure the last time I watched it was Christmas 1994, I was surprised that...

According to Netflix, I like...
Emotional Suspenseful TV Shows
Quirky Dysfunctional Family TV Shows
Witty TV Dramas Featuring a Strong Female Lead
Exciting Foreign Movies Based on Real Life
Understated Movies About Marriage
Critically Acclaimed Social & Cultural Documentaries
Inspiring British Movies
Violent War Movies
One of these things is not like the others.
I blame the boyfriend.
(But otherwise, Netflix, you...

Hors d'oeuvres & Potlucks
We’re hosting a little potluck party tomorrow night for a small group of friends and I’m super excited. I love potlucks. Love them. Mostly because they only require you to prepare one or two dishes and you get to sample a little bit of everything. It doesn’t hurt that most of the dirty dishes get taken home with their owners, so clean up is also a piece of cake. And there’s...
