shea sylvia [blog edition]

These are the everyday adventures of a California Girl in Kansas City (with guest appearances by a boy, two pugs and the world's fattest cat).

Despite recent evidence to the contrary, this is NOT a wedding blog. I swear. Really.

BTW, all opinions posted here are my own.

Our trip to Northern California can be summed up as follows:

    • We went to the beach.
    • We took a lot of pictures of ourselves on the beach.
    • We ate amazing seafood (at the restaurant where we’ll be having our reception, no less).
    • We visited with family. My niece officially has me wrapped around her little finger.
    • We loved every second of it.

I’ve now added “Convince Aaron to move back to California with me” to my five year plan.

    Santa Cruz, CA.
Full of good things: my dad, the beach, my favorite restaurant of all time - The Crows Nest, amazing sunsets and sunrises and the most eclectic group of residents you will ever meet.
Aaron and I will be making our first trip together to my homeland in August. This will also be his first time meeting my family.
I can’t wait.

My trip to California, in pictures.

Tomorrow night, I head to San Diego (via Los Angeles) to spend a weekend with my beautiful sisters (who you may remember from their epic Just Dance video last summer).
Even if the forecast is right and the weather completely sucks, I have no doubt that we’ll have a blast. There really isn’t anything better than being with my sisters, period. No one else has shared the same experiences and ridiculousness and childhood memories. No one else understands the significance of brown overalls with green t-shirts, “Ur mom,” Hooga Buttray, “That’s your boyfriend,” Slapping Cheeks, Spits in Face or Giant Moon.
Other than quality sister time, my California to-do list includes:

An In-N-Out cheeseburger, animal style
Iced coffee and a vanilla ice blended from Coffee Bean
Nordstrom Rack
Fresh fish tacos
The beach
And if I can swing it, a drive through West LA. I haven’t been back there in five years and I really want to see my old ‘hood.

I can’t wait to step foot in my homeland. I’m afraid I won’t want to leave. View high resolution
